Today morning has turned up good as Ferrari has unveiled a convertible version of its much awaited powerful supercar till date – Ferrari LaFerrari. Although Ferrari hasn’t revealed the official name yet but Spider and Aperta seem to be obvious choices by the car maker. The Ferrari LaFerrari will be showcased for the first time at the Paris Auto Show in October this year. The brand will give its customers a choice to choose between a fold-able fabric unit and a removable carbon fibre roof.
The LaFerrari Convertible will have 963 PS with a naturally-aspirated V12 and an electric motor. The Italian manufacturer has announced that the chassis has been reworked upon so that it is as solid as its coupe brethren. The brand claims that , “Significant and extensive modifications have been made to the chassis with the aim of retaining the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupe version.”
The pictures revealed show that the car doesn’t has any roof. In the words of carmaker, “the new limited-edition special series will be available with a removable carbon-fiber hard top and a removable soft top,”. They also added, “The car’s aerodynamics have also been further hones to guarantee the same drag coefficient even without the roof,”.
For now, the fixed-roof LaFerrari comes in 499 units but there are rumors for the release of 150-200 units for the open-top model. After the private presentation, the LaFerrari “Spider” has already been sold out for now. We will have to wait before the car maker reveals the car’s actual name along with other specifications like kerb weight and production numbers. The Italian manufacturer has confirmed that the drop-top will keep the same performance and running gear as the tin-top LaFerrari.
According to this, the supercar will have 800 PS V12 engine with a 163 PS electric motor for delivering 963 PS of total power and 900 Nm of maximum torque, and would shoot from 0-100 kmph in not more than 3.0 seconds with an expected top speed is 350+ kmph.
