India’s Cheapest Electric Car Launched at INR 4.79 Lakh

The Eas-E microcar is from Mumbai-based EV startup PMV Electric. It is not a full-fledged passenger car and is categorised as a quadricycle. This makes the new PMV micro EV the most affordable electric car in India’s PMV market.

The Eas-battery E’s capacity hasn’t been revealed by PMV. The company did note that the microcar includes a 48V lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The onboard charger can charge the Eas-E using a 15A outlet in less than four hours. The microcar comes with three claimed range options: 120, 160, and 200 km.

The front wheels receive power from the permanent magnet synchronous motor. It has an IP67 rating and can produce 13 hp and 50 Nm of torque. Eas-E allegedly has a 0 to 40 kph time of fewer than 5 seconds and a top speed of 70 kph.

The Eas-front E’s end features a blanked-off grille design with LED daytime running lamps. It has a single windscreen wiper and two circular headlamps. PMV microcar looks short and stumpy from the side and its window line swoops upward at the C-pillar. It also receives two circular auxiliary lamps in the rear bumper besides a thin LED lightbar for its taillights. PMV Electric offers the EAS-E in both single-tone and two-tone colour schemes.

The handbrake is located to the left of the manually adjustable driver’s seat and the steering wheel is set in the middle of the dashboard. It features an LCD digital instrument cluster and an infotainment screen. Which comes with smartphone connectivity and integrated navigation.

As an electric quadricycle, the PMV Eas-E has no direct competitors. The Bajaj Qute, a quadricycle powered by an internal combustion engine, is the only other competitor.
