Mercedes-Benz X-Class was recently revealed through an official set of images by the luxury car manufacturer. The premium pickup vehicle has a five seat, four door layout that helps passengers enjoy off-road, on-road and all other kinds of adventure with utmost luxury.
The combination of everyday convenience and added utility makes this perfect option for urban families with certain amount of weekend adventure in them. The car has great scope for personalization and being a Mercedes, ample amount of care for interior quality, safety and other factors is expected from the X-Class.
The engine options on Mercedes X-Class are 163 HP X220d, 190 HP X250d and 165 HP X200. The first two are diesel engines while last one is a petrol option. X220d and X250d can even be bought in 4Matic variants while the bigger V6 diesel motor with 258 HP and 550 Nm will get standard 4×4 in its drive-train.
Every model will get low range gearing while rear locking differential is optional on the X-Class. Gearbox options include 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic units on different variants. It has the longest wheelbase in its class and comes with 1042 kg of load carrying capacity. That seems effective and in sync with rivals like Nissan Navara and Toyota Hilux.
Apart from the comfortable interior section, the load bed measures 1587 mm in length and 1560 mm in width. Apart from its physical capabilities, Mercedes Benz use leading electronic functions like Dynamic Select Control, Active Brake Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Lane Assist and smartphone connectivity. They will even offer 360 degree camera as an option.
X-Class gets exclusive three piece stainless steel body under-guard, body color rear canopy, aluminum top cover and running boards. Indian market has the least scope of pickup sales while markets like Australia, Argentina and South Africa would be considered for the first roll-out.
