The new Mitsubishi Lancer which the company plans to launch soon is the 9th generation Lancer and it will come out in Taiwan by the name of Grand Lancer. The company has no plans to launch the same in India yet as they have only the Taiwan market in mind with the cosmetically advanced new Grand Lancer. Some of the major changes on the sedan includes a face-lift with a “Dynamic Shield” front end which sports a typical chrome trimmed look with an optional LED headlight. The car gets new impressive character lines with faux vender vents, and the belt line on the body also gets an upward subtle kink towards the rear.
New Mitsubishi Grand Lancer Officially Unveiled
The styling and aesthetic cues have been carefully done on the model with an aggressive impact. The Grand Lancer now gains some C-shaped tail lights. Also the bumper gets a more aggressive design with number plate moved up the boot lid. The top model of this premium sedan also gets 18 inch alloy wheels. There is an all new dashboard design within the impressive interior cabin. The car also comes packed with 10.2 inch all-digital instrument panel with smart dashboard as an option.
The car also provides a three spoke multi function with a steering wheel, a reversing camera and an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system. The top end variant also provides for a dual zone automatic climate control. On the safety features front, the new Lancer is equipped with six airbags, stability control, ABS with EBD and brake assist, Hill Start Assist (HSA), an emergency brake warning system and Accident Warning System ( AWS). The package also includes an ISOFIX rear child seat anchor system.
The Grand Lancer is powered by a 1.8 litre naturally aspirated, four cylinder petrol engine that gives out max power of 140 PS and generates maximum torque of 176 Nm. The car utilises CVT technology to send power to the front wheels and returns a combined mileage of 15.7 kmpl. In Taiwan the lancer is up for sale for NT$6,79,000 (INR 14.7 lakhs) ranging upto NT$8,19,000 (INR 17.74 lakhs) for the high end model.
