Meet Bajaj Scorcher 200 by JEDI Custom House (Mumbai)

Christened as Scorcher 200, the modified motorcycle you see here is based on the Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTS-i, which was once a star product in the company’s portfolio. It was a compact motorcycle with an impressive design and was much more powerful when compared to its rivals at that time. It carried the same design as the Pulsar 180 while the additional use of a better exhaust design (shared with 220F) gave it an exclusive place in the automotive industry.

Perfectly finished in an eye-catching blue shade and featuring the retro-stripe design on its fuel tank, the Scorcher 200 from JEDI Customs carries a minimalistic design but still looks exclusive with its carved fuel tank. The side panels carry the same blue colour scheme with a single white stripe. The blue shade flows smoothly into the rear suspension while the front suspension stays black with fork gaiters.

Apart from these, one can spot a beautifully ribbed seat that seems to be comfortable for both the rider and the pillion. JEDI Customs has also equipped this modified Pulsar 200 DTS-i with all-new tyres to boost the overall retro profile of the bike. The stock headlight has also been replaced with a chrome-finished round headlight, guarded by a black protector and carrying orange indicators to enhance the retro theme.

Apart from the cosmetic changes, the bike remains mechanically unaltered. It continues to be powered by the Pulsar 200’s 198.8cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine which is good for a maximum power of 18.01 BHP and a peak torque of 17.68 Nm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

This is what JEDI Customs has to say about their custom Scorcher 200: “The custom motorcycle world agog with Royal Enfields we somehow felt we are doing injustice to other smaller engines which are often tagged as commuters, Hence the concept of a scrambler out of a Pulsar 200. The idea came upon a random thought after a neighbour bus garage mechanic almost gave upon us to get his dying pulsar a new lease of life. But then you do out of the box stuff only once in a while and hence the scrambler. Built on a 200cc machine this particular build is a typical scrambler with all the necessary elements like the suspensions, exhaust, spoked wheels, seat and others. The colour combinations are something that we thought would be eye-catching and at the same time classy.”
