The much-awaited Benling Aura electric scooter has been officially launched in India with an on-road price tag of INR 99,000. It was showcased a month ago and the brand revealed that the scooter gets its power from a 2500W BLDC electric motor in combination with a detachable 72V/40Ah lithium-ion battery that is capable of delivering 120km ride range on a single charge in the Eco mode. The battery warranty is 3 years while the scooter can touch a top speed of 60kmph.
Benling Aura is a high speed-segment scooter by the brand. In addition to the all-new premium electric scooter, Benling India has three more scooters in its portfolio – Kriti, Falcon, and Icon. These three are the low-speed scooters. The company claims that Aura comes featured with BSAS (Breakdown Smart Assistance System), which restarts the scooter and forces it to move despite a system breakdown.
If the scooter stops due to some problem with the controller, battery or motor, the BSAS will restart the scooter and keep it moving at a low speed of 15-20kmph. The range of the Aura will strictly depend upon on a number of factors including the battery charge.
The Aura electric scooter by the company comes with a detachable battery that takes about 4 hours to charge completely. It comes with an all-digital instrument console, remote keyless system and has a USB charging facility, along with anti-theft alarm and rear-wheel integrated locking system.
For assistance, the scooter comes with side stand sensor and parking assistance switch. It has four driving modes: Low, Eco, Sport, and Turbo. Aura is quite safe considering the fact that it comes equipped with a detachable battery. The scooter is available in two colours – Matt Black and Glossy Blue.
With a price tag of INR 99,000, the Benling Aura electric scooter will rival against the likes of Bajaj’s recently launched e-scooter Chetak and Ather 450 as Ather 340 has been discontinued by the brand. It will also go up against the yet-to-be-launched TVS electric scooter.
