EICMA 2019 or Milan Motor Show is an annual trade show that is held in Milan, Italy, in which well-known motorcycle brands participate to showcase their latest products to the world. Last year, the show managed to draw over half a million visitors and around 1,200 exhibiting brands. EICMA stands for Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori.

The trade show is a great platform that is frequently used by brands to debut their new products. It can also be said that EICMA is the premier event for the motorcycle industry. At the event, not just motorcycle brands but aftermarket suppliers and retailers also display their new products. New KTM Bikes @ EICMA 2019

KTM 390 Adventure

KTM 390 Adventure – It is an essential off-road-oriented version of the 390 Duke and has been equipped with a 373.2cc single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 43HP and a peak torque of 37Nm. It has a ground clearance of 200mm whereas the seat height is 855mm. The bike will be launched in India at the India Bike Week held between 6-7 December 2019. The KTM 390 Adventure is expected to launch in India with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 3 lakh.

KTM 890 Duke R

KTM 890 Duke R – The KTM 890 Duke R is powered by a 2-cylinder 890cc liquid-cooled engine. It generates a maximum power of 121HP and a peak torque 99Nm. It has a dry weight of 166kg and the bike is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. The 890 Duke R has a ground clearance of 206mm whereas the seat height is 834mm. KTM is expected to replace the 790 Duke with the 890 Duke R in 2020. It is expected to launch in India at around INR 9 lakh.

2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R

2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R – It is a hyper naked bike that is packed with an all-new chassis which takes the 2020 model of the beast to an all-new level. It comes packed with a 1,301cc, 8-valve V-twin engine that generates a maximum power of 177HP and a peak torque of 140Nm. The beast is 189kgs in weight and has a 6-speed gearbox. It has a ground clearance of 160mm and the seat height of 835mm. As of now, KTM has no plans to launch the 1290 Super Duke R in India. If it comes, the brand may price it around INR 15 lakhs (ex-showroom).

2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade & Fireblade SP – These 2 superbikes belong to the brand’s latest iteration of its legendary CBR series and is powered by an all-new 999cc inline-four cylinder engine that promises a maximum power of 214HP and a peak torque of 113Nm. The SP model of the superbike weighs around 201.3kgs in weight. In comparison to the standard model, the higher-spec SP variant has been equipped second-generation 43mm front forks by Ohlins plus it gets improved front and rear brakes with Brembo callipers. We can expect the 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R series to be introduced in the Indian market soon.

2020 Honda Rebel 300 & Rebel 500 – Both the bikes have received updated front forks with stiffer springs along with revised oil levels. The 2020 models of Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 have been equipped with a revised instrument cluster that now displays gear position and fuel level. The bikes also get a thicker seat and a new all-LED headlight. As of now, Honda has no plans to launch the Rebel cruiser motorcycles in the Indian market.

2020 Honda Africa Twin CRF100L Adventure Sports – This model has been showcased at EICMA 2019 with a few updates in which it boasts a larger fuel tank, taller windscreen, touring-spec seating, wire-spoke wheels compatible with tubeless tyres, and the option of a new electronic suspension setup upfront. The 2020 Honda Africa Twin CRF100L Adventure Sports is expected to be introduced in the Indian market in the coming months.

Honda CB4X Concept Unveiled at the EICMA 2019

Honda CB4X Concept – It perfectly compiles the elements of sports and touring with a slight coverage of a crossover. In this concept, you will find dynamic yet compact lines that have been provided to enhance the contrasting personality of a motorcycle that has been designed to operate on urban routes. The bike is also capable of handling mountain bends or devouring long journeys. The production version of the Honda CB4X Concept is expected to be unveiled at the EICMA 2020.

2020 Honda CB1000R

2020 Honda CB1000R – At EICMA 2019, Honda unveiled many updated models among which was the 2020 model of the CB1000R that has been offered with quite some updates. The bike is powered by a four-cylinder engine that is capable to generate 16% more power and 5% more torque. Apart from that, the model has been equipped with a 4% shorter gear ratio that enables faster acceleration from the power-up.

Suzuki V-Strom 1050 Series – The all-new Suzuki V-Strom 1050 series is equipped with a digital instrument cluster whereas the XT variant gets a wider set of electronic rider aids. The XT also has cruise control with three riding modes. Both models have traction control as a common feature. The 1050 XT Adventure version is a full-blown adventure motorcycle equipped with loads of accessories.

Powering all the three variants of the Suzuki V-Strom 1050 is a Euro5-compliant 1,037cc, liquid-cooled engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 107HP and a peak torque of 100Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The V-Strom 1050 series is likely to be introduced in India in the coming months.

2020 Kawasaki Z900 – The model gets a revised design that is an evolution of Kawasaki’s Sugomi design. It also has traction control and multiple rider modes which weren’t present in the previous version of the Z900 streetfighter. It has riding aids like 3-level Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and two power modes – Low and Full. Powering the 2020 Kawasaki Z900 is a Euro5-compliant 948cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 125HP and a peak torque of 98.6Nm.

2020 Kawasaki Z650 – Although the major features remain identical to its predecessor whereas the key updates include new LED headlamp, headlamp cowl, all-new digital console, sharper-looking tank shrouds and a new rider assistance tech. Mechanically, the 2020 model of the Kawasaki Z650 continues to be powered by the same 649cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 68HP @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm @ 6700 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX – The 2020 model of the 1000cc sports tourer has a sportier and slicker appearance. The exhaust also has a single-end can whereas other features include LED lights, cruise control, and a new coloured TFT instrument console. The 2020 model of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 continues to be powered by the same 1043cc, inline 4-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 142HP and a peak torque of 111Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Kawasaki Z H2 – Earlier this year, Kawasaki has unveiled the Z H2 at the Tokyo Motor Show. The streetfighter is powered by a refined 4-cylinder engine with a supercharger. The Kawasaki Z H2 is one of the most powerful street motorcycles in its category. It is capable of offering a smooth and manageable power delivery both at medium and low speed, which is facilitated through a first-in-class electronics package. Powering the Kawasaki Z H2 is a 998cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, inline 4-cylinder engine with an in-house Supercharger and it is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 200HP @ 11,000 rpm and a peak torque of 137Nm @ 8,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Hero Xpulse 200 Rally Kit – The Rally kit for the Hero XPulse 200 consists of a fully adjustable, taller front and rear suspension, extended gear pedal to suit off-road boots, a flatter seat for easily changing position while off-road riding, a 12-teeth front sprocket and 40-teeth rear sprocket for added grunt and has rally tyres for more traction. This kit will transform the XPulse 200 into an extreme rally machine. It is likely to go on sale in India by the first quarter of 2020 with an approximate price tag of INR 50,000.

Hero Xtreme 1R Concept

Hero Xtreme 1R Concept – Along with the Rally kit for the xPulse 200, Hero MotoCorp also showcased a stunning 200cc motorcycle concept. The Xtreme 1R scales the tip at 140kg (kerb) while the sharp styling gives the bike an aggressive appeal and a committed stance. It sports a mean LED headlamp and a beefy fuel tank. The tail section has been raised a little bit, which seems to be inspired by a high-end sportbike. It also has an LED lamp underneath the rear cowl with a small GoPro camera that has been planted smartly. All the features of the concept are quite promising while the production model of the Xtreme 1R is expected to be unveiled by the end of the year 2020 or in early 2021.

The Indian FTR 1200 Rally features a more upright riding position than its 1200 or 1200S siblings. The 1203cc 60-degree V-twin engine has also got a slight upgrade in terms of power as it is now capable to generate 124.7Bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 120Nm. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in India by late 2020.

2020 Triumph Bobber TFC Custom Motorcycle Revealed

The Bonneville Bud Ekins special edition models pay homage to the Hollywood’s off-road racer – Bud Ekins. The T100 and T120 are equipped with Monza filler cap, LED indicators, diamond-knurled handlebar grips and bar-end mirrors. In addition to the Bud Ekins models, Triumph also revealed the Thruxton RS and the Bonneville Bobber TFC at the EICMA 2019.

2020 Yamaha FJR1300AE and FJR1300AS – The 2020 models of the FJR1300R series get a new colour option in addition to getting more comfort and safety features. Both the models are equipped with rider-friendly features like electronic suspension, electronic rider aids, lean angle-sensitive LED cornering headlights, an electronically adjustable windscreen, adjustable handlebars, adjustable rider seat height, and integrated quick-release side cases.

2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT

2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT – It may seem a little mild but underneath all that practical sport-touring exterior lurks the powerful 847cc inline triple-cylinder engine. As of now, Yamaha has not announced anything regarding the launch of the Tracer series in India though, one can expect the brand to launch the Tracer 900 GT in the near future.

2020 Yamaha Tracer 700 – The 2020 model of the Yamaha Tracer 700 features a new face that is inspired by the mightly YZF-R1 superbike with two slant-eye LED lights above twin projector LED headlights. Towards the front, it gets a slight robotic look. Also, the windscreen has been updated with a less upright profile. At present, Yamaha has no plans to launch the Tracer 700 in India.

Along with the above-listed models, Yamaha also showcased the 2020 MT-125 and 2020 MT-03, which were initially revealed at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The brand also unveiled the 2020 model of the popular 500cc-segment TMAX scooter. The new model of the MT-03 is expected to launch in India next year with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 3.20 lakh while there is no confirmation regarding the launch of the TMAX 560 and the MT-125 in the Indian market.

New Harley Bikes @ EICMA 2019

Harley-Davidson Bronx 975 – The first pure streetfighter from Harley-Davidson, the Bronx 975 is equipped with a 975cc twin-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 115HP and a peak torque of 94Nm. It uses Brembo radial-mount monoblock four-piston brake callipers and Michelin tyres. The Harley-Davidson Bronx 975 is expected to launch the Indian market somewhere around 2021.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 – Along with the Bronx 975, Harley-Davidson has also unveiled the production version of the Pan America 1250. It will be powered by a 1250cc liquid-cooled 60-degree V-Twin engine, which generates a maximum power 145HP and peak torque of 122Nm. Like the Bronx 975, Pan America 1250 is also expected to launch in India in 2021.

2020 BMW S1000XR – The engine of the 2020 model of the BMW S1000XR adventure sports bike has been updated in addition to getting a brand new chassis and 11-pound weight loss when compared to the 2019 model. BMW promises that the engine is capable of generating 165HP and a peak torque of 113Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

BMW F900XR & F900R – At the EICMA 2019, BMW-Motorrad has introduced the new middleweight twins namely F900XR sport-tourer and the naked F900R. The latter has a more dynamic look whereas the F900XR shares styling with the S1000XR. Both the F900 series motorcycles are expected to launch in India in 2020.

BMW R18/2 Concept Motorcycle – Along with 3 new models, BMW also showcased R18/2 cruiser motorcycle concept at the EICMA 2019. In terms of the design, you can notice the small handlebars that offset the long, swooping lines of the R18/2 concept. The attractive Candy Apple Red metallic paint scheme makes the cruiser concept look unique while it showcases the versatility of the BMW-Motorrad’s big boxer platform.

MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR – This model by MV Agusta is packed with forged wheels and steel bolts instead of titanium while the streetfighter shares the brakes, suspension, and much of the electronics with the standard model of the Brutale 1000 RR. With the introduction of the Brutale 1000 RR, the designers have tried to meet the expectations of the customers to offer the best possible design along with a super-refined engine. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 208HP @ 13,000 rpm and a peak torque of 116.5Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

MV Agusta Rush 1000 Naked Motorcycle Unleashed!

MV Agusta Rush 1000 – The MV Agusta Rush 1000 cafe streetfighter is based on the Brutale 1000 RR naked motorcycle. One of the best features of the Rush 100 is that the 8 fuel injectors are controlled by an integrated MVICS ignition-injection system. Powering the motorcycle is the Brutale 1000 RR-inspired four-cylinder engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 208HP and a peak torque of 116.5Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

MV Agusta Superveloce 800

MV Agusta Superveloce 800 – Similar to the Serie Oro edition of the motorcycle, the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 also has an 800cc 3-cylinder engine in addition to the gorgeous bodywork. This bike is destined to become a milestone in history as it possesses the glorious sporting heritage of the brand with a modern twist. It is a combo of the elements of the past and the latest cutting-edge technology.

MV Agusta Rosso Range – In addition to 3 new motorcycles, MV Agusta also revealed the Rosso motorcycle range at the EICMA 2019. Under the Rosso series, the brand is offering the Brutale 800, Dragster 800, and Turismo Veloce 800. It has been specifically introduced to bring the costs down and provide consumers with more affordable options. All the three models are equipped with a 798cc three-cylinder engine, in addition to getting the trellis frame, adjustable suspension, and Brembo/Nissin brake package. The one feature that separates this range from the others is the design of the alloy wheels.
The Superveloce 800, Rush 1000, and the Brutale 1000 RR are unlikely to be launched in India any time soon while we can expect the brand to launch the 800cc Rosso range in the Indian market in the year 2020.

2020 Tuono V4 1100 Factory – This model by Aprilia represents the most extreme expressions of the sporty semi-naked idea. The Tuono 660 is a poised product that offers nearly all of the riding thrill in a package that’s easier to handle. It showcases the concept of sporting versatility. The Aprilia RS660 is equipped with a twin-cylinder 660cc DOHC engine that uses a 270° crankshaft and is capable to generate 100HP of maximum power. As far as the launch in India is concerned, the RS660 is expected to launch in 2020 with a price tag of around INR 15 lakhs (ex-showroom). As per the latest buzz, the brand has promised to unveil the production model of the Tuono 660 at the EICMA 2020 and it will most probably launch in the Indian market in 2021.

Ducati showcased a total of 8 new motorcycles at the EICMA 2019, which includes two concepts namely Scrambler Motard Concept and the DesertX Motard Concept. Apart from these 2 concepts, the brand also showcased the Multistrada 1260 S Grand Tourer, the 2020 Diavel 1260, Panigale V2, Streetfighter V4, Streetfighter V4 S, and the 2020 Panigale V4 at the EICMA 2019. These 6 bikes were initially unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2019. The Panigale V2, which is actually the updated model of the 959 Panigale, delivers a premium look with its single-sided swingarm, Showa Big Piston Forks (SBPF) and Sachs rear monoshock, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II.

CFMoto showcased the all-new 700 CL-X range at the EICMA 2019. This model is being offered by the brand in three variants – the CL-X Heritage, CL-X Adventure and the CL-X Sport. The brand has entered the Indian market in July 2019 with four products namely 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and 650GT. About the launch of 700 CL-X, nothing has yet been said but if launched in India, it is expected to replace the 650MT. As per the rumours, the new CL-X models will most probably launch in our country by the end of the year 2020.

Husqvarna – The Swedish motorcycle brand has proudly showcased 10 models at EICMA 2019, which is supposedly its largest display since its start of the new era. The brand has shown its commitment to the street sector while on the same hand it highlighted some significant motorsport activities and its focus upon the development regarding performance, technology and design. Husqvarna is expected to launch the 2020 models of the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 in the Indian market in 2020 while the brand has not announced anything regarding the launch of the Svartpilen 701 and the Vitpilen 701 in India.

On the other hand, the V7 III Racer 10th Anniversary has a more glitter look which has been crafted with skill. It differs from the previous version towards the front end where a new headlight fairing with incorporated windscreen stands out in true Café Racer style. The 2020 Moto Guzzi V7III Stone S is a limited edition model whose production is limited to only 750 units.

Energica – The brand has unveiled the 2020 models of the Energica Ego at the EICMA 2019. It is available in two variants – Ego and Ego+. The Ego gets a 13.4kWh lithium-polymer battery whereas the Ego+ is equipped with a 21.5kWh battery. As far as the torque is concerned, the Ego develops a peak torque of 200Nm while the higher-spec Ego+ model is capable of generating 215Nm. Both variants get a ride-by-wire throttle system with four riding modes, four-level regenerative braking maps and a six-level traction control system. Apart from the 2020 Energica Ego, the brand also showcased the 2020 Eva Ribelle and it has a few improvements like 21.5kWh Lithium-polymer battery. Talking about Eva EsseEsse9+, the motorcycle now develops an increased torque of 200Nm. As of now, Energica has no plans to launch its electric motorcycles in the Indian market.

Segway X160 and X260

Segway – At both the events, EICMA and SEMA, Segway has showcased its electric dirt bikes X160 and X260, about which the company claims it to be midway between being a dirt bike and a mountain bike. The most intriguing feature of the new Segway bikes is the swappable battery system, the 31.1/46.6 mph top speed, the 40.4/74.6 mile range, and the 219.91/249.87 Nm torque in the X160 and X260 respectively.

Verge TS

Verge – It is a rebranded company that was earlier known as RMK Vehicle, which had its home workshop in Turku, Finland. Under the rebrand, the manufacturer expects to produce market-leading electric motorcycles. The company showcased the production-ready model of Verge TS with massively improved specifications.

KYMCO RevoNex

KYMCO – It is a well-known fact that KYMCO is a globally popular manufacturer of scooters. At EICMA 2019, the brand boasted the performance details of the product – RevoNex. The electric street motorcycle has a gearbox that is due to the brand’s desire to retain the soul of a sportbike and evoke greater emotion. With the speedup initiative being witnessed in India, the brand may think upon bringing the RevoNex in the Indian Market.

Horwin – It is a European motorcycle brand that is committed to providing reliable and high-quality e-mobility vehicles to all the customers in European countries. Both the models showcased by the brand at EICMA 2019 are somewhat similar in features but the CR6 Pro is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and is comparatively sportier in terms of looks.

Voge ER 10

Voge – This is a premium bike brand and its e-bike ER 10 caught everyone’s attention at EICMA 2019. It is based on the Sun Ron White Ghost, which was an electric bike concept that was unveiled two years earlier. The Voge ER 10 has a liquid-cooled and swingarm-mounted 6kW mid-drive motor that is capable to generate a peak power of 18.8HP, which is quite impressive for a 115kg bike. The company-claimed top speed of the motorcycle stands at 100km/h.

Vespa Elettrica 70 km/h – At EICMA 2019, Piaggio showcased the updated model of the Elettrica scooter, which gets a 25km/h speed boost. The brand says that this has been achieved with optimizations to critical components of the powertrain. Nothing has been said about the introduction of the new Vespa Elettrica 70 km/h in the Indian market.

SYM Maxsym TL

SYM Maxsym TL – The new model of the scooter offered by this brand is packed with complete equipment and is capable of delivering great performance. The SYM Maxsym TL has been equipped with a 465cc 8-valve 2-cylinder in-line engine with automatic clutch capable of churning out a maximum power of 40HP and a peak torque of 41.2 Nm.

SYM Symphony S

In addition to the SYM Maxym TL, the brand also showcased the Symphony S. Everything in the two-wheeler has been perfectly balanced whether it’s the saddle or its the racy sides that lighten the rear. The strength of the Symphony S is harmony. The scooter also guarantees an excellent quality/price ratio and along with that, it covers everything that is needed for the daily pleasure craft. As of now, SYM has no plans to enter India.

Yamaha TMAX 560 – Christened as TMAX 560, the brand has worked upon optimising the CVT automatic transmission for better power delivery. The 562cc engine on the 2020 Yamaha TMAX is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 47.5HP and a peak torque of 55.7Nm. At present, the brand has no plans to introduce the new TMAX 560 scooter in the Indian market.

New Honda SH Series

Honda SH Series – Honda also revealed 2 new scooters namely SH125i & SH150i. Both the scooters get a redesigned body and an updated engine that is capable to generate more power. They have been given 50% more storage space in which the under-seat storage has been included. Both the scooters also possess a USB charger and a Honda Smart Key. Honda may launch the new scooter series in India though, nothing has been announced officially till date.

Yadea C1S

Yadea – The brand showcased its electric scooter – C1S at the EICMA 2019. The scooter has been designed by KISKA team who invested three years in defining the fine lines and combining retro lines incorporating the futuristic identity that electric mobility brings. The scooter has a distinctive LED headlamp that flaunts the Yadea logo.

2020 Lambretta G-325

Lambretta – The brand has marked its comeback with the introduction of G-325 at EICMA 2019. Apart from that, the brand also notified about the India launch to take place at the Auto Expo in February 2020. Lambretta was one of the most loved brands back in the 80s.

Italjet Dragster

Italjet – This Italian brand re-introduced its one of the most famous scooters at the EICMA 2019 – the Italjet Dragster. The scooter is being offered in two engine options – 125cc and 200cc. The 125cc version has a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which churns out 14.7Bhp of power and 12.5Nm of torque whereas the 200cc version has a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four-valve, DOHC engine that puts out 19.8Bhp of power and 17Nm of torque. As of now, Italjet has no plans to launch its premium scooters in the Indian market.

Niu – A brand that is specialised at offering smart urban mobility products revealed three scooters at the event which includes – MQiGT, NQiGTs Pro and UQiGT Pro. The brand has become the vane of new-energy-based travel tools at EICMA.

Super Soco – The brand is a Shanghai-based motorcycle developer that introduced the SOCO TC, which is an electric motorcycle that combines intelligent alarm devices, intelligent attractive system, intelligent interactive systems, a cloud platform, and a mobile app. When it comes to scooters, Super Soco showcased the CPx, CUX, RUX, CUX Ducati, and VS1 at the EICMA 2019.

Piaggio Beverly 350 Tourer

Piaggio – At EICMA 2019, Piaggio unveiled the Beverly Tourer that comes packed with a smoked screen and a 36-litre top box in a matching colour with the scooter. It is available in 2 engine options: 300cc and 350cc, which are capable to generate a maximum power of 21Bhp and 29Bhp respectively. The Piaggio Beverly Tourer is available in pastel white, matt black and grey colours. The brand also revealed its Medley Scooter that features a revised i-get engine, full LED headlight and other ergonomic updates.

Askoll Dixy

Askoll – The Vicenza-based brand revealed the Dixy at the EICMA 2019, which is the brand’s second generation of electric vehicles. It is a completely new medium in technology while the scooter has been developed by the company in collaboration with Italdesign. The Askoll Dixy is available in three colours which are pastel white, anthracite, and red.
