The BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Fi has been spotted testing in India for the first time, hinting that Bajaj Auto may introduce the advanced engine variant with lesser emissions earlier than the deadline. As per the new regulations by the Indian government, the BS6-emission norms will come into effect from April 1, 2020.
The best part for their Pulsar series is the value for money factor, seen clearly through the Neon series that offers both 150cc and 180cc variant. The Fi variant will limit emissions and further improve the power delivery of India’s favourite Pulsar to a large extent. The missing kick-starter and updated braking system mean that the brand is also taking care of the upgrades along with other changes on the new Pulsar 150.
Bajaj Pulsar series currently offers three 150cc variants along with one 180cc and one 220cc model in the DTS-i and three different variants in the modern Pulsar lineup. All of them may not make it to the BS6-compliant terms as the increase in price may leave many products out of the budget for certain segments.
However, the brand earlier effectively absorbed the ABS price hike in the best-selling models to keep them at a place where buyers have no other choice to make. The 2020 Bajaj Pulsar Fi lineup may not start under INR 70,000 but when compared to the rivals, the same will still save around INR 25,000 for the buyers.
BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Fi is seen in a new livery, clearing that the brand will also revise the colour options in the 2020 edition. Most probably, the colour options for Pulsar 150, 180 Neon, and 220F will match with one another. However, the tricky placement of Pulsar 180 Neon may help Bajaj keep the 220F fans happy under a price tag of INR 1 lakh.
The current-gen 149.5cc engine on the Pulsar 150 is good for 14 HP and 13.4 Nm while power increase is expected with the BS6 update. The same stays true for all models which are yet to receive fuel injection like the existing Pulsar RS200 from the lineup. The BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Fi is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.
