Yamaha FZX Dual ABS To Launch in India Soon - Report

With its tried and tested 150cc platform, Yamaha FZ-X attempted to enter the neo-retro category. As a result, we received an FZ-X equipped with a circular headlamp with integrated DRL and a projector main unit. It has more beefed-up looks than the standard FZ to provide a muscular stance. Whereas the latter is marketed as a commuter street bike.

The main highlight of the upcoming 2023 FZ-X would be dual-channel ABS. It was only single-channel ABS before, and soon, New FZ-X would be the first 150cc motorcycle in India to offer dual-channel ABS. The nearest motorcycle with dual-channel ABS is the Bajaj Pulsar N160.

Along with improved braking, Yamaha will offer gold-coloured alloys, as seen on the FZS 25 and FZ FI. The 2023 Yamaha FZ-X is also expected to be available in a new colour, the specifics of which are unknown at the moment.

The FZ-X has a neo-retro design and is powered by the same engine and is based on the same platform as the FZ FI. With a displacement of 149cc, this engine produces 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox is available, allowing the vehicle to reach a top speed of 115 km/h.

Except for the new dual-channel ABS, the rest of the componentry remains the same. It remains to be seen whether Yamaha will include dual-channel ABS as standard or as an option with the FZ-X.

It currently comes in three colour options: Metallic Blue, Matt Copper, and Matt Black. The price starts at Rs. 1.34 lakh, ex-showroom. The new 2023 Yamaha FZ-X will be released in a few days and may be priced as low as Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
