Yamaha WR155R Deliveries Commence in Indonesia: In December 2019, Yamaha introduced its WR155R off-roader motorcycle. It comes featured with the same engine present in the YZF-R15 V3. Indonesia has become the first market in the world to get this dual-sport motorcycle. Unlike the Yamaha Tracer series, the WR series bikes are more off-road-oriented and are suitable for almost all types of terrains. Before the launch of WR155R, the smallest motorcycle under the WR series was the WR250.
The bookings for the WR155R begin at the starting of this year and now Yamaha Indonesia has commenced the deliveries of the motorcycle to its customers. As per the details available, the distribution of the bike has begun in the Western Java region in Indonesia. The brand dispatched the motorcycles directly to the home of a few buyers whereas it handed over the keys to some inside the dealerships.
Mechanically, this adventure motorcycle comes powered with a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that churns out 16.5HP of maximum power at 10,000 rpm along with 14.3Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It has a ground clearance of 245mm and has a fuel tank capacity of 8.1 litres.
The Yamaha WR155R is equipped with a semi-double-cradle frame while the suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking performance of the bike is handled by disc brakes at either end.
The motorcycle rides on a 21-inch tyre at the front and an 18-inch tyre at its rear. The seat height of WR155R is 888mm. In terms of pricing, the dual-sport motorcycle is slightly pricier than the R15 V3. It costs around INR 1.72 lakh after conversion, whereas R15 costs INR 1.68 lakh in Indonesia (Direct Conversion).
